In the woods nearby dwells a she-wolf, once a human named D. Lopa. Saint Anthony, upon discovering her true nature as a servant of the Devil, expelled her from his home in Linhares, where she was gathering souls for his cause. To compensate, the clever saint transformed her into a she-wolf, granting her a long life with the condition that she secretly bring the finest fruits from the mountain forests to her homeland. Thus, she compensates her fellow countrymen for their unconscious complicity with Satan in the past, a burden her conscience never released. She deposits these fruits here every night, and it is our hospitable duty to share them with our visitors.
