A restaurant with the true flavors of traditional Serra da Estrela cuisine. “O Albertino” commenced as a humble “Tasca/Grocery Store.” Following his father’s demise when he was just 10, Albertino Moreira diversified into various enterprises while his mother managed the Tasca. He delved into livestock trading and wine commerce before assuming military service in Guinea in 1969. Upon returning in 1971, he inherited the family business, alleviating his mother’s debts. His marriage to Emília Brazete in 1972 bolstered the enterprise, particularly the grocery section. Transitioning to snack preparation around 1975, patrons soon flocked to sample his fare, prompting the expansion of his establishment. Notably, in 1978, he accommodated Espinho Military, enhancing his reputation. Despite an inadvertent lapse in documentation in 1986, authorities facilitated its renewal, underscoring his significance. Albertino’s dedication to excellence culminated in successive expansions, including a wedding hall, all while preserving authenticity and conviviality. His legacy endures through his successors, ensuring the perpetuation of his culinary artistry.
